I think this is the mom equivalent of the kind of “running away from home” you do as a kid when you pack a snack, a stuffy, and a blanket and flounce out to the backyard in a huff for maybe 30 minutes. I’ve done it. I recommend it even but it’s never the restorative getaway one imagines.

My dad used to say of a motel like this that it’s a place where you sleep with one foot on the floor and one hand on your suitcase. I love that you brought your retainer but not a change of clothes.

I have only just recently become obsessed with 911 Lone Star bc of Instagram reels fed to me by the algo. This is the only franchise with which I’m familiar (so far) but I’m hooked.

I’m sorry you haven’t been feeling yourself. Your description of how you were feeling is very similar to how I felt after both my pregnancies, in a way I could never describe myself. Not depressed, but something other bad thing. Zoloft made it worse, other meds made it better.
