Ah yeah I remember those times. for Maine, when I did that kind of thing, I committed to cooking but nothing else. Someone else can cope with dishes, and any other tidying that needs doing, I am reading in a hammock. Also paper plates make pretty good firestarter for campfires, as I am sure you know!
#CertifiedTerrainHead here!!!!! ALSO hard pass on Airbnbs for travel with kids, absolutely not cooking or doing dishes on my HOLIDAY. I LOL'd at a "charitably-named expensive bad time." ahahahah so tru, godddd. Just did our first trip with a 5 and 6 year old and MAN did that change things. Still miserable walking in rain with kids who have never had to "walk in the rain" (LA kids) BUT every other part was near-bliss!!!!
