Thank you for this! I am pregnant with my second, and "ecstatic dread" is such a great phrase for capturing how I feel every day. I don't love being pregnant but I especially dread the postpartum haze -- I felt like my brain only got fully back online once I stopped breastfeeding. But I'm hoping this second time around my brain will be like, oh ok, this is kinda familiar, we can free up some of that prefrontal cortex for other stuff. Because I think I want a third!
