I keep starting shows, watching an episode or two, and then just reading a Wikipedia summary of the entire show and declaring that I have just saved myself so much time. I have also barely been able to read a book during the pandemic -- when before I would average a book every week or so. I, too, have been doing crossword puzzles on my phone. I'd really like to get my attention span, or whatever, back.

You are not alone. I too could not concentrate during the pandemic and could only watch YouTubes of 10 minutes or less despite my only child being a whopping 17 years old (well. 16 when the pandemic started, but hey it's been a long pandemic).

And I too eventually was able to watch whole shows and even whole seasons (what? Not in ONE NIGHT, um, usually), but only of shows not in English. Was Agnès Koltes one of yours? More of a loup de la mer than du bois… maybe a requin de la mer? Also, how about La Faille? Loup de la neige…

I also really loved Profilage, which may not count as loup du bois, because it's in Paris and not dans la forêt, but certain episodes include many of the required elements, and the delightful quirky-maybe-crazy main character is a genuine HOOT. Amazon tricks you into thinking there are only a few seasons, but word is that there are ten. 10! I haven't been able to find the fancy secret seasons on American internet, and am considering taking my vaccinated self to France for the purpose of holing up in an air bnb to consume them.

Someone please watch THE HEAD so we can discuss whether or not it is a loup du bois show. I’m leaning yes but may have taken too many liberties.
